The jungle spreads around
After leaving the museum for about an hour, we arrived at the town of Solo (Surakarta) in less than an hour by car, just at noon.

ランチの後は、ヒンドゥー教寺院のチェト寺院＆スクー寺院へ。アミニズム信仰色が強く、特徴あるレリーフが多いことからErotic Templeと称されることも。確かにバリ島のヒンドゥー教寺院とは一味違います。リンガ（サンスクリット語で男性のシンボルの意）が人間の創造、カメが宇宙の創造を表わしているとのことで、それらのレリーフがこれでもか！と盛り沢山。
両寺院とも15世紀に建立された寺院で、マジャパイト王国後期の時代のもの。この王国を最後にジャワ島はイスラム教化されるため、この２つはジャワ島で最後のヒンドゥー教寺院となるそうです。
《チェト寺院》
あいにく曇りでしたが、まるで天空の寺院…
由緒正しい寺院の様で、バリ島からわざわざお参りに来ている人にも出会いました。階段はちょっとキツめ

30分ほどかけて、お次はスクー寺院へ。チェトもスクーも海抜1000ｍ辺りに位置しているので、曇りだと余計に肌寒いっ！皆さん上着は忘れずに。

変わったレリーフや像が沢山ある寺院。マヤ文明の建造物に似ているような
保護のための青い柵の中には、ヨーニ（サンスクリット語で子宮の意）のモチーフ
リンガのレリーフも勿論ございます
そしてカメも。チェト寺院と比べるとリアルなカメ
古代インドのヒンドゥー教叙事詩、マハバーラタ物語のレリーフ。ラーマヤナ物語と共に古代インド２大叙事詩とされ、インド神話を構成する物語
奥にも建造物が。人ひとり通れる幅の階段です。登ってみましょう
清々しい空気。パワースポットと称されるのも頷けます
チェトとスクーは、ジャワ島の寺院の中でも他に類を見ない様式の寺院という前振りでしたが、期待よりも遥かに見ごたえがあり、大満足でした。
夕暮れ前には帰路につき、ジョグジャカルタへ。途中には茶畑が延々と広がります。さすがジャワティーの本場。
移動時間は長めですが、１日かけてサンギラン、チェト＆スクー寺院とってもおススメです！
